LOGISTICS - WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT

Full-time | Queen Street

Smith & Caughey’s are seeking a strong, reliable person to join our small but busy Inventory team on a full time basis.
You will be well versed with assisting in all aspects of warehousing activities, through the processing of inwards and outwards also including stock take, packing, in-store deliveries and ensuring the efficient daily operations of the warehouse and dispatch function.
You are also required to have good computer skills and be literate with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel to meet all customer and business requirements.

Duties\competencies for this diverse role include:

• Driving Company Van for Stock Transfer and Customer Deliveries
      - Driving a class 1 van between stores
• Accurate administration of outgoing orders – attention to detail a must
• Picking and packing orders accurately and promptly
• Good Packing skills, including gift wrapping
• Computer literacy
• Assisting with stock takes
• Attention to detail
• Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy warehouse environment
• Maintaining the store in a clean, tidy and safe manner
• General warehouse duties
• Manual Labour
• Distribution of Goods within store
• Flexibility in hours

This will be a full time role based on 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with weekend work required leading up to the busy seasons.

Our ideal Fragrance Specialist
• Previous retail industry or customer services experience (preferably within beauty or fragrance)
• Passionate about retail and fragrance

Duties

This is a Sunday - Thursday role, and will be part of the People & Culture team. This role will be responsible for ‘In Store’ process/service development, including store service protocols, POS and CRM training. They will also be responsible for the induction and on boarding programmes, and support our leaders with performance appraisals, goal setting and development. Other responsibilities include maintaining, updating the company internal intranet communication system.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

We are seeking a Junior level Graphic Designer to join our Creative Services and Marketing team.

The Creative Services team has a role to play in most aspects of the visual representation of the Smith & Caughey's brand and however that may be represented. Graphic Designers at Smith & Caughey's operate under the Creative Services Department, this department works closely, cohesively and collaboratively with our in-house Visual Merchandising and Online departments. Designers will be expected to provide digital and print design expertise on behalf of the store for a variety of marketing and communication materials, and be able to meet our key branding look, feel, tone, and benchmark standard.

The role of a Graphic Designer at Smith & Caughey's reflects our retail environment, elements created are to drive business to our online store, foot traffic to our physical locations and build a sense of community with our customers. Enhancing the Smith & Caughey's brand in the present retail landscape while maintaining the historical values of our business, communicating our rich store history of over 140 years, and supporting our brand partners is an always-on responsibility. Designers will work with assets received from brand partners and must be able to meet their strict guidelines.

A key and regular responsibility of both roles is to produce email communication design and supporting digital assets within the look and tone of voice of Smith & Caughey's.

Applicants for this Junior role should have two to three years of proven experience.

Applicants should have the following:

• An excellent understanding of and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is essential.
• Experience or skills related to video editing, photography and animation is a plus.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills, an eye for detail and be able to work well under pressure and to deadlines.
• Should be able to understand, maintain and implement visual strategy and direction.
• A pro-active and dynamic and collaborative approach.
