Dunoon fine bone china mugs are handcrafted in Staffordshire, England, using traditional methods developed and refined over three family generations.

This oversized mug, named after one of the greatest Glens in Scotland 'Glencoe', is one of our oldest shapes, yet remains one of our most striking. Informative and educational patterns have remained the most popular designs on this shape. It has a flared top and a strong, comfortable handle so it feels very solid to hold.

'Zodiacs' are a collection by Jack Dadd of 12 wonderfully designed mugs, coloured and embellished with 22 carat gold describing the sign's astrology, dates and meanings. Capricorn, The Goat, also describes specific traits which a person born under the Capricorn starsign may exhibit.

Specifications:

Handcrafted in Staffordshire, England.
DUNOON is a thriving family business which began manufacturing the highest quality mugs in 1974 in DUNOON, Scotland. The concept was to produce quality ranges of stoneware mugs, filling a gap in the market with user friendly, beautifully designed original mugs.

In 1982 a new factory in Stone, Staffordshire, the heart of the ceramic industry was opened and under Gordon, Alan and Peter Smith's management, DUNOON developed a policy of working with numerous designers and artists to constantly update its ranges with new designs and unique mug shapes in both Stoneware and Fine Bone China.

DUNOON uses a traditional slip hand-casting method to guarantee a fine, lightweight mug.

The Smith family tradition of work within the pottery industry, which has spanned over 100 years, continues with Harriet and Andrew, Alan’s children, now involved with the business.
