First purchased by father and son, Ray and Peter Hampton, Waxglo was a small candle manufacturing business based in Sumner, Christchurch. The company has had a number of changes, however still holds true to its family roots. Peter Hampton is still involved heavily as co-owner, while in 2005 the grandson of Ray, Peter Bowden, became the other co-owner and the third generation of family involvement.

Waxglo now operates in Hillsborough, Christchurch. Still specialising in candles, Waxglo has grown its range to cover all the products shown on this website, including many glass and iron candle holders as well as its premium range of paper products from Germany.

A relatively small business by personnel, Waxglo however has a huge reputation for its long standing presence in the gift industry, for quality product and their traditional South Island friendliness.
